Well, it’s official. I’ve caught the Pinterest <\/a>bug. I’m slightly obsessed. I also love Refinery29<\/a>, who pointed me to the blog over at Honestly…WTF<\/a>, where I found this diy wrap bracelet tutorial<\/a>:<\/p>\n

So as you can see, this rabbit hole runs deep. I started with a few friendship bracelets (of which I will be making MANY more). But I really wanted to make one of those wrap bracelets. I was able to find some gray cord at a local bead shop, along with some gray nylon cord, similar to waxed linen. I would really have preferred working with the linen, but patience is not my strong suit and I could find NONE in Miami. I’ll have to order some online.<\/p>\n

Anyhoo…I also could not find the chain nor the rhinestones at any stores in town. However, my neighbor had graciously given me the cutest monogram necklace with a ball chain in exchange for walking her dogs while she was on vacation. They’re dolls (my neighbors and the dogs) and I was not expecting anything at all. So nice. Problem is that I really don’t wear necklaces very often, so it languished in my jewelry box – until now!<\/p>\n

So I decided to combine the project with the necklace! It was a bit trickier than I thought it was going to be, mostly due to twisting. The wax on the waxed linen could possibly help keep the chain put. I finally employed the help of a butterfly office clip to keep the cord in place while I wound the nylon around the chain.<\/p>\n

So other than the twisting, which I find is an issue with this style of wrap bracelet,\u00a0 I like how it came out! Hey, if anyone has anti-twisting pointers, please leave me a comment!<\/p>\n
