Brie Larson Indie Filmmaking Resources

Sitting here at 5am in the Miami heat unable to sleep while still waiting for my power to come back after Irma I came across this Brie Larson post on Instagram encouraging us to share our Indie Filmmaking hacks and resources. Fan-friggin-tastic!

You don't need a fancy camera to tell your story. Get your friends, use a camera phone if you have it, and mess around. We need you. We can't change this industry without you. Let's compile a list of free or cheap resources so you can make a film for as little $$$ as possible. I know public libraries sometimes have films you can check out, Apple products come with imovie(that's how I learned how to edit), tons of websites have royalty free music you can download to score, or have a friend record something live! Dustin and I used household objects to create our score for Weighting(you can watch on Vimeo). Post below other ways you can make a film. Do you know any facilities that let you check out cameras and computers?

Need to conserve battery, so I am not able to spend lots of time, but I created a database for everyone to pop info in. The link makes everyone a creator, so you can share or edit to your heart’s content.

I created a few tables and populated them with the stuff I know about off the top of my head. It would be great if people could go through this thread and mine all the golden nuggets. Thank you @brielarson for giving me something other than the heat to think about!
